Meditative Art to Uplift Consciousness

Joyful Art Mandalas

By Sharon Taylor

I am Sharon Taylor and the creator of Joyful Art Mandalas. I live at Ananda Village: a beautiful intentional community in Northern California based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. Six years ago, I began my journey painting mandalas as a way to help my 13 yr. old granddaughter raise money for a school trip to Mexico, Together we painted rocks and Christmas ornaments to sell. I enjoyed the process so much that I continued to paint mandalas on rocks, candle holders, coasters and small dishes and then moved to canvas and birchwood rounds. This process of creation was meditative and left me feeling very uplifted.

Yogananda says β€œThe channel is blessed by what flows through it.”

A mandala is a symbol of the universe in its ideal form. The creation of a mandala signifies the transformation of a universe of suffering into one of joy.

My wish for you is that you experience the peace, love and joy through this art form that I experience through its creation.
